There is currently no legal requirement to have private domestic electrical appliances periodically inspected. However, it makes sense to think about having at least the most dangerous appliances checked for safety. Garden equipment and power tools used in workshops and garages can be very dangerous. Often this equipment is kept outside year round and in sometimes damp conditions and deterioration can easily occur. The relatively modest cost of having essential checks on the most dangerous appliances is worth considering when weighed against the cost, (both financial and emotional), of electrocution or other injury caused by faulty equipment.   Sometimes it's not the appliance that is faulty though, but the actual socket it is supplied from and plugging equipment into a faulty socket can be fatal.

We offer a scheme to private domestic customers that checks the integrity of all sockets used for outside supply and also inspects and tests the appliances used outdoors or in the garage/shed etc.
